Triple 7 and a Renegade

I’m currently restoring a TC Renegade in 50 cal. I don’t even have all my components here or assembled but have started putting together supplies. The big question is, can I run triple 7 through it without any issues? I’m sitting on 2 unopened cans of FFG and can’t find any real black powder in person.

I use triple 7 in my cap rifle with #11 nipple. I just clean the breech more often.

777 is much easier to ignite than the other BP subs like Pyrodex so you should be fine. That being said I switched the nipple to a musket cap on my TC New Englander and never looked back. For one they are MUCH easier to handle than the 11s and throw a lot more flame. Best $12 I ever spent.

Just don’t get the “reenactment” musket caps. I think they are under powered.
