Soon to be new member

One of these two lucky guys will be a new member of my family in about 7 weeks! I have been contemplating getting a hunting lab(we have one lab that is just awesome but gun shy) for a couple of years, and my wife surprised me by showing me my fathers day present early! This will be my first hunting dog, so any advice for reading material or just advice is greatly welcome!

Any of the Richard Wolters books or videos are really good, Game Dog is very good. Mike Lardy has some good videos out there....they are a little pricey but if you never owned a hunting dog before they will help you with a basic understanding of training and handling of a hunting lab. I guided bird hunters for many years with pointing labs so if you have any questions and if I can help I gladly will.
