I have my fingers crossed that this is a good thing. I have a 39A from the late 60s that is well built. I would like to add a 44 or 45-70 but I have been hearing that the Remington era guns have been hit or miss on quality.

If the bankruptcy court allows this deal to go through, it's a major ++ for the Marlin brand. Given some time to get Remington's dirty handprints off, I might actually buy another one. Maybe a 336 in uhhh, 35 Rem, without that cross bolt safety ????? I'm dreaming, I know......but a man can dream, even if it will never come true.

Good luck on that...
I’d be very surprised if Ruger ever would do away with the safeties. But if they moved it the tang, I could live with it.
