Did anybody else see they are calling for snow in the Flattops. Man that's early. Hopefully it will knock the remaining bugs down and kickstart some rutting activity for the archery opener this Saturday!

It has been one hell of a hot summer. A little snow for opening day is going to a welcome sight! Good luck everyone and be safe!

I live in So. Central Colorado, only 55 miles N. of New Mexico.
We've had a cool and rainy August. Overnight low temps in the mid 40's for the past 10 days. High daytime temps aren't getting much above 70 when it's cloudy. Of course our warm Sun boosts that up considerable when it's shining.
I don't see a radical change in our weather in the next week. I think the forecast is for more partly cloudy weather for the next week.
We've had above average rains all Summer, so the backcountry is quite lush. Elk can feed about anywhere they want.

Yes, the San Juans got some snow yesterday! Didn't look like much, but it was the coolest night it's been in a while for sure.
