Awesome thread. I always try to get an "as they lay" picture before things get started. Here's a few different deer.

My kid shot this cow, she took off hit this tree so hard she broke her hind leg in two on the flip around.

I don't have a picture "as he laid" after the shot, but here is a picture of the billy that I ended up shooting "as he laid" about one hour before I shot him.

Awesome thread!! This is my 2013 bow kill where he hit the ground. I still grin every time I see these pics, very pleased with this buck.
