Anyone do any Snow/Ross Goose hunting in Central/Eastern Montana?

Just hit residency and trying to lay plans for my hunts this year.

Its only a two week season and the regs seem to openly say there arent many that come through the flyway.

Just curious if anyone has a group that goes after em, or general areas they flock.

Save your time and money just go to North or South Dakota.

Honestly, I can't believe they even offer a light goose season in Montana. But, this is the land of opportunity and they need to make money anyway they can.

We just don't see light birds like places to the east. You'll see occasional flocks in the fall stop but not very often. Freeze out gets more action than probably anywhere else in the state.

I was kinda suspecting this. The license is even free according to what I was reading.
If there were any birds at all they wouldn't be giving them away for free.

Thanks for the heads up!

Now if we could hunt spring migrating ducks.... I'd be in hog heaven. I think we probably have one of the best and widest variety of waterfowl around.
