Well, opinions are like cowboy hats in Texas - everyone has one (or more) - I am glad to hear that we as hunters have opinions about the way hunts should be conducted. Whether you consider baiting, corn piles or food plots, is not as important has the moral obligation to critters that we all...
When this book came out it caused a stir. People realized that there where others who wanted to control their decisions on where to work, how to work, what to get paid, when, where and what to eat, where and how to live - in essence they were losing their soul to another controlling agent...
To quote Ben Franklin " In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria". Big Fin is working(?) - work - work - work, does he never sleep?:D
My spending has been limited by a bad hip - to be replaced soon - then it is off to ND to ravage the deer herd - well at least chase'm around a little.
50 miles east of Madison - we got the full works - snow and high winds. Not going anywhere until the plows show up for the first pass. Driveway is loaded and front walk is at 4 foot. Everyone make sure that your furnace vents aren't blocked.:)
I am a rookie at this - just got a 10x12' reliable tent with 5' walls. It is fine for 2 without cooking inside. It was warm enuf at 18F that the stove was hardly used. Things I like best are the ground cloth, rear window, buckle door with heavy duty zipper and the fact that at 65 years old I can...
Because I usually hunt by myself - camp is too "rough" for the wusses I know - I will have a cocktail before dinner after a great day afield. If others were involved I would feel funny about policing the action.
No wonder my 7 year-old grandson doesn't want to study woodsmanship. Now days you just have to climnb in a box, over a pile of corn and shoot animals with laser sighted equipment. IMO anything over 33 yards is pushing the ethical limit. Oh ya! Pump that hand in the air to show your dominance...
Hey all, I drive an '05 trailblazer and with my new found interest in getting back into the country I will need chains at some point.
What can anyone tell me about tire chains?, prices expected?, best place to buy?, etc.
Thanks,
:D
Ya, I am here in Wisconsin. Shooting a longbow and recurve. After watching a compound arrow flinger shoot a caribou through the guts at (a self proclaimed) 106 yards I realized how important it is to the hunter and the animal to aquire death morally. Same goes for cross guns. Maybe when I am 75...
I recently aborted the bowsite site. Seems like too many of "them" don't like those of "us" that are "leatherwallers". Anyway, I am on here for the information and the shared adventure. Though I sold my far shootin' rifle to buy my wall tent, I still hunt hard.
Yup! I concur! Best of luck to all in the woods this week. I'll be sittin' the stand that hasn't seen a buck in three years. But the views are great and the time alone gives me peace of mind.
Hunt safe everyone!:)
