Stand is hung less than a quarter mile from last year's stand. Kicked a few deer out of their beds. Last weekend was a single deer, not sure if it was a buck or not, but it had a pretty thick body. Yesterday I went back to hang my stand and found a doe bedded in the thick stuff. Also found a bazillion rubs in the area. Once again I'm using the kayak to get in...really liking this tactic for down here.
Only thing left now is to hope for rain and high winds on the opener since I won't be here to hunt it. I've found this is all that is needed to keep the OKie rednecks in their homes. Unfortunately the weather looks fabulous.
