Here's the backstory: 1st year archery elk hunt but been rifle elk for many years. Anyway, I called a bull in to 40 yards but held up on behind trees. I needed 5 yards more for my clean shot. I let out one more cow call and the bull turned around and walked away. So it will drive me crazy not getting a better understanding; this bull came in fast and hot and either smelled me or did not like the last cow call. So, at what point do you guys stop cow calling and let the bulls curiosity bring them in?
