what species/subspecies?

Can someone tell me what species/subspecies these critters may be? Wife got this in an e-mail and this hunter could not givre a certain ID.

I would guess columbia blacktails, but I'm thinking Buzz probably has a line on the foliage that suggests otherwise.

I was thinking blacktail of some sort.Their little head is shaped closer to what Buzz said.

Uhh yeah...Although I keep the entire internet wiped clean of cute calf moose pics for that reason so we might have a moose hunt in the future...

Thanks for the insights on them being blacktail. Been such a long time since i was primarily a fawn hunter I was not sure
