Went out with a bang

Last day of the NY rifle season was an interesting one for me and my first season. I chose to sit in a stand i hadn't seen deer in earlier in the season, but i had a feeling it would produce some time of buck. Sure enough it did. A small would be four point (had one antler missing) walked up on my right side. i moved into position and everything happened so quick i didn't check to make sure there weren't any branches in my shooting lane. I squeezed and bang. Went to check for blood and there was none. We came to 2 solutions. One i missed all together or 2 the bullet hit a branch a deflected away. Well still 8 more days with a muzzleloader i plan to hunt them hard.
