Band results!

Evidently this got a little good karma working my direction; last shot fired on the last day produced a banded bird! Only my fourth in 45 years of duck hunting.View attachment 312998

Band Results! I like this discovery part.
Hatched in 2021 or earlier. N.E. of Wasilla Alaska USA, Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
Fourth migration for this gal. Lucky to have had this encounter with her. I really go out of my way to not shoot hens, this is only the third one this year. poor light conditions and surprise got the best of me.

That is the really cool part about shooting a banded bird.

I saw recently that the oldest wild duck ever recorded was a 29 year old Canvasback. That is a wild ride for a duck, wonder how many times it was shot at over the years.

Thank you guys. I’ll try and find some from other hunts. I love taking pics during and after a hunt. My daughter wants to start doing it as well with a nice camera so that would be cool. Any excuse to get her to go with me.

Here’s some from NJ, the leustic one is a redhead according to the Biologist I shot on my family ranch in OK. The black duck pintail mount is a combo of OK and NJ.

4 days of hunting, seven days total. Been watching marlin, sailfish and Dorado unloaded at the marina every day, I need to schedule a fishing trip down here another time.
