Upper Missouri Breaks Deer Hunting

Like the title says I am thinking of going and exploring some new territory for mule deer, since I recently relocated to the Great Falls area. Has anyone hunted the Upper Missouri Breaks area near Greasewood Bottom or Ervin Ridge? Are the roads in this area the same as the gumbo in the 410 Breaks area? Is this an areas that would be better suited to be hunted from a boat/canoe? Thanks for any help.

Bad news is the roads are impassable when wet. Good news, private landowners control access and they don't get used.

Well that is unfortunate. But I suppose that is about how it goes anymore.

it always looks better across the river. LOL i was in there one time for 10 days with permission, saw some nice deer. i think a boat is your only option unless the BLM gets that access road done to go around bullwhacker.
