Someone a little different from Iowa

I'm from Iowa but hunt other places as well. My golden thinks i exist to take him bird hunting - and that may be true, but I have a passion for rifle squirrel hunting and competitions and big game hunting with 19th century rifles and ammunitions of several types. I have hunted many places in North America and once in Namibia, but I'm no expert. Just becoming well traveled. Sitting on a freshly submitted elk application in Wyoming right now. Anxiously counting down the days.

Thanks for the welcomes. This seems like a hunting forum that is actually about hunting. I look forward to it.

FWIW, this is the pinnacle of my hunting experiences. I'm looking for a similar success with a mature bull elk this fall. I have killed elk but not a mature bull - yet.

Welcome. Be sure to "use enough gun" when hunting squirrels. A wounded squirrel up your pants is not worth the less recoil...Cotten will agree with me.
