It's getting to be the time of year that my wife starts wanting to get Christmas for the kids in order (I know, crazy Halloween isn't even done yet). I've got a 4 year old boy who has more toys than he knows what to do with and I cringe at the thought of adding more junk (with little to no sentimental value).
Even though he isn't of an age that a rifle, shotgun, fly rod is of much use, I've been kicking around the idea of "investing" in his future. Think of it as the outdoor toys version of a college savings plan.
I guess the risk is that ultimately he doesn't enjoy the outdoors like I do...
Anybody doing something similar? How has it gone?
