Yes, it takes 6 months to establish residency!!! I am going to fly fish in the fall and scout for elk and deer. Hopefully, I can still take part in the last week or two of archery season as a resident!

I'm leaving behind 30 years of free range Georgia whitetail experience View attachment 102160 and trading it it for much larger quarry!

Having left West Virginia and Alabama as my 2 primary hunting locations (I hold lifetime licenses for each), I can say hunting Montana is like starting all over again!

The fishing is great...message me sometime if you’re ever down around Bozeman and want to wet a line!

Congratulations on the move. Far less than 1% of hunting, firearm, or life advice on the internet is useful; however, I've found recommendations for local eateries and beer to be pretty darn accurate. In that spirit, I recommend Suds Hut chicken and Cafe Zydeco for Cajun. I know it's MT, but if they do Cajun wrong I don't want to be right.
