Photo - pronghorn doe and 6 fawns

I caught this photo on a scouting trip today. Just seeing this made the long drive worth it. I thought they were going to spook when I drove up, but they settled quickly and let me get a few pictures.

The main body of the herd was a couple hundred yards away. Do any of you know if it's common in pronghorns for one adult to watch over the others' fawns?

I'm no biologist but I think a lot of herd animals designate a "babysitter" and take turns giving mom a break throughout the day.

I thoroughly believe that also. Beef cows do the same thing.

Antelope are neat critters. I never tire of watching them.

I dig antelope does with horns. Would be a fun way to hunt with a bunch of doe tags trying to find the ones with the biggest horns.

My season opens in just over 2 weeks. Hope I can find a buck on public.
