New McMillan Classic for Remington 700 in marble McWoody finish.
Long story short. I inherited a Remington 700.in .300 Weatherby that had a cracked stock. I sent it to McMillan and they replaced it under lifetime guarantee. The up charges for color, Decelerator butt pad etc. were nearly $200 as they only guarantee the base stock. No biggie. I get the stock a couple months later and it just didn't fit. I forgot why. They remade the stock and a couple months later I got it. While fitting it a small piece of the mounting boss for the trigger guard cracked inside. I called and talked with them a bit and they said it was no big deal just remount it . The little boss popped off. More calls and they said don't worry about it just glue it back if I was concerned. Several calls , not as friendly as the first but still cordial, I was told by their gunsmith to send the whole rifle to them and they would see what's up. I declined and mentioned I had bought a Boyds for it while waiting. That didn't go over well. I was told how much their gunsmith cost and what a big favor they were doing me to fit the stock for me.
I stuck it on the shelf and put it out of my mind as I wasn't very happy. Anyway, I have decided to sell it as I'll never use it.
$450.00 shipped to the lower 48 plus insurance.
The picture of the mag well shows the little chunk that has been repaired.IMG_20230902_110120452.jpgIMG_20230902_110209442.jpgIMG_20230902_110222172.jpgIMG_20230902_110259789.jpgIMG_20230902_110443352.jpg
