Nebraska Mule deer rookie

I'm a WI whitetail hunter and next september I would love to go down to Nebraska in the fall for the first week of archery season. I want to hunt over the counter public land for muleys and need some suggestions and tips of where to go. I've heard its easy to hunt but I've also heard it's very hard to hunt. Any information is helpful!
