On the road again.
OK, rookie question.
Getting ready to order the CDS dial for a VX5HD 3.5-15x44. Scope sits on a 300 Weatherby. Rifle is pretty much a west of the Mississippi rifle, higher elevations.
I’m at 650 gle, but most of my hunting is an average of say 7,000.
Should I put 650 or 7,000 as the elevation on the information?

I posted this same question before my hunt this year if you want to read through my thread. I ended up going with the elevation out west since that’s my primary use for the scope. Killed my buck at 264 so it worked out well. Really love the scope.

Call Leupold and they can answer any questions. They were a big help when I got mine cut

re zero the scope when I change locations
I cannot stress how important that is when traveling west and using CDS.

CDS is only as good as the data you put in. Without a rezero you will be shooting way high as the yardage increases.

MOA dial and ballistic app is good for wherever. Just shoot it to see your elevation height gain and adjust the correction in the app. Write down your new table.

One of Leopold's TBR (true ballistic range) rangefinders is a great tool. Calculates up hill and down hill ranges and displays them
