I just got back from NW MT a couple days ago from my first bear hunt. I had a great time and saw some great country, but did not get a bear. We only saw two bears and they were both grizzlies and that was with my wife and I walking 34 miles in the first 3 days of the hunt. We would like to get out again this spring and try to fill our tags, but neither of us can get off in May. I was looking at region 2 and unit 341 because there seasons go until June 15th. Unit 341 would also be a lot closer drive for us to make it out for a couple days. My question is if there is any reason not to try going this late in the spring or why only those units are open so late? The only thing I have found about the area is that there are a lot of grizzlies which I am okay with. Any advice would be appreciated.
