Hello,

I plan on going out while I'm home for break from school. I am just curious or what some tactics you guys ma have used in the past that have worked for late archery mule deer. I will be in unit 55 (Idaho). I am thinking about just getting to a peak and glassing into the Juniper trees and see if I can spot some moving/bedding down. I'm not sure if this is a good tactic as I've never really hunted rutting deer before. What I mean by that is I'm not sure if I should try and spot a bedded buck or if they'll just be cruising. I'm not too proud to shoot a doe in my mind the animal is filling the freezer and deserves more respect than just being a trophy and I think the memories will be the really trophy one day when I can't go out and hunt.

This is a repost I accidentally posted this in archery.

Not sure about Idaho but deer should be on the move. Bucks act very erratic try and stay hidden and move toward your target. Good luck shoot a big one doe or buck.
