What is the best approach for land management on a small tract of land, 12 acres. This land is located in North Central Kentucky. Are there do's and don'ts?

Land managment for 12 acres? Odds are you're going to be hunting deer moving between properties at best. I wouldn't hunt it much, otherwise the deer will change their patterns.

I had a piece of property that was about 40 ac, but only 12-15 was woods. I hunted it once a week, and 2-3 times a week durnign the rut. Any more than that and the deer would stop using the woods and move to the nieghbors.

Not really sure what type of managment you could do with 12 acres... A food plot maybe? Seems like a lot of work for a deer, that may or may not use it depending on the farming situation around your property.

What kind of cover? Tillable? Trees? Pasture? Bambistew's suggestion is about the best for hunting it. I'd also set at least 1/2 off limits (if it has heavy, securtiy cover) so that there is 'refuge' and just hunt the edges.
