Kuiu Island Bear Hunt - Kayak Info Needed

Me and a buddy drew the tag for next spring. Looking at kayaks and wondering if there are any rentals in the Petersburg area or if folks bring an inflatable with them from home to traverse the back waterways. Thanks

Yes and no. They do make them and they weigh as little as 40lb and inflate with a simple pump. I know folks have brought them up on their hunts. Just not sure if it’s easier and cheaper to rent or bring one with us. Can’t find any rental places in Petersburg where we will be taken into the bush for the hunt.

Marcus and Micheal (FreshTracks crew dudes) flew with their alpaca rafts, scoring nice bears. On another episode @Big Fin flew and had TSA puncture his raft on another FreshTracks episode.

There used to be (and likely still is) a discount on the Alpaca Raft using the promo code “Randy”. These rafts are way less than 40 lbs. Brian Call and his buddy Ryan have used Alpacas in Idaho and moose hunting Alaska.

I'm thinking about selling my Alpacka Oryx, took it to Alaska but didn't end up using it.
