Today was the last day of my daughters rifle hunt so I had her dress up like a little hunter for Halloween and took her hunting. I went back to the canyon where I had located some nice bucks during my archery hunt. Was a little worried that all of the bucks had been pushed out due to the amount of tags that was given out this year in that unit. We started hiking at seven o'clock a.m. this morning and the buck was on the ground by seven thirty a.m. She made one high front shoulder shot at 200 yards. He is a respectable 5x4 but not the monsters I saw during my archery hunt. My 25-06 has killed one cow elk, my wife's bull elk and now my daughters buck. All with a 115 gr NP. I think it's time to give it a bath in some Rem Oil and let it rest. Attached are some pics of the entry and exit wounds in order.
