How late is decoying effective?

Not hunting till mid October is it worth bringing a decoy along? Or is it at least worth a shot to hide behind if we stalk?

I wouldn't bet my life on it anyway :) too many longrange guns out there...

I would STRONGLY advise against it. If you are hunting especially with antelope numbers this low, I'm willing to bet guys will start shooting at anything that resembles an antelope. Leave the decoys to archery hunting.

What about a moo-moo cow decoy? Was actually thinking about trying one this year

I've tried one for archery this year... haven't been able to get any closer than 100yds. Would have been slam dunk for rifle hunting.

jlmatthew, Cow decoys work like a charm, just don't walk straight at them. Slowly work toward the antelope in an arc.

I'd stray from the antelope but if you can make or get a cow decoy it should help you get close.
