how do you rate lope meat?

I'd rate it ahead of mule deer and about even with elk on average, but the young one we got this year was GOOD! Still, Sitka Blacktail is the best venison that I've yet had.
 
I've handled them every way you can... as in taking care of them after the shot. My concensus is their either good or you'll get one that will taste like crap. One of the worst ones I've had was shot and in a cold locker with in about 45 min. It wasn't run, just snuck up on and shot. I think I've only killed about 18-20 or so, but have eaten a bunch shot by friends and family. Every once in a while you get one that just tastes like crap for what ever reason.
 
Shot one 15 years back, while still in High School. Probably the worst venison I 've ever had. Tasted like sage brush. But I did shot it in the brush, go figure.
