I had a good week on Brownlee for big crappie. Fishing deep and slow we averaged 55 per trip this week, most all were 12 -13". The cats are getting more active also. We fished from 6 to 10 this morning for 16 eatin size channels. We also came across these young bucks Thursday morning.

Look for the schools off points or breaks. Water depth will range from 30- 50' roughly. The fish will be suspended from 16-38' deep with most in the 22-24' range. Downsize your jigs to 1" or less. White tubes and a chukar feather jig I make that's a good minnow imitation worked well. Crappie nibbles help a lot. Micro rods with very fine tips and 2lb floro help with the light bite. It's not wide open fishing by any means and most have given up or are not getting into them. The cats were in 6' of water in the Powder Arm and hit cutbait and crappie guts fished weightless. I'm on cats for the next 3 days then back on crappie for the rest of the month. I hope it continues strong.
