Already know they are gas pigs over what, 2100rpm, but as far as towing a 19ft bumper trailer and an ATV in the back. Guys have told me they are great, but I have never had anything new as a 2005/2006. Looking at one in a 3/4T HD with 66K miles and hope to get them down to 17 five. The 92 F150/302 with 170k is just not going to cut it when we start traveling to AZ, NM, OR, WA, MT after retirement.
Want to stay out of the diesel.

Just be ready to put in a new transfer case. BIL put 5 in his, all under warranty. Son went thru 3, before he finally got rid of his. Uncle is on #4 at 97K miles.

I have a 2011 (bought Dec 2011) 2500HD Denali with the 6.0 gasser. I pull my 35' 9,000 lb bumper pull travel trailer all over the country with it. It has made it over the tallest passes in Colorado (10,000 ft) with a little loss in speed and 8-10 mpg at the worst. It gets about 13-14 in and around mpg. I absolutely love this truck and it rides like a cadillac. Don't plan on ever getting rid of it. It has about 30,000 miles on it (about 8-10K towing) and I've never had any problems with it. You wouldn't even know a 19' bumper pull trailer is behind it. Shouldn't hurt the regular gas mileage that much either.

I had an 05 GMC for a couple of years. I pulled a four horse stock trailer full of horses with it, about 7k pounds total. It pulled like a dream. Mileage was 7-10 depending on how hard I pushed it, 12-13 empty.

It was really a nice truck, I wouldn't hestitate to buy one.

Thats all we run at work for gas pickups. Like u say not real great on gas around 12-14 mpg on the highway empty and about 9-10 towing. They do tow pretty good. We don't have to much trouble with them most have over 200k on them with one at 350k and still going strong.

My Parents have a 2008 6.0L 3/4T. 14 is pretty typical highway mileage. They also have a 19' pull along trailer. It pulls just fine with plenty of power to spare for the hills. Not sure what mileage is like towing, haven't asked...
