I have used the bag on three backpack trips and it is in very good condition. I purchased the bag directly from Mystery Ranch for $220.00 in the spring of 2013.

Why do you say "old"?

Has there been a design change or is this one similar to the current model?

Yeah, there are a few differences. There is a Gen1 and a Gen2 bag. The Gen2 has a zipper pocket opposite of the side zip. That would fit the butt of a rifle in it and you could use a compression strap across the barrel to hold a firearm for instance. I think they designed the Gen2 bag to be used with the extended load lifter. It might be lighter also (Gen2)
