First day out

Here's a pic from the first day out of the year for pheasants. I only had a few hours to spare but we still put up several birds. Got some great points on hens, but only this guy let us get close enough fora shot. Leaving to go to another part of the ranch some guys drove in to where we were going to hunt and I chose to head home. It was funny to listen to Grace, my GSP, whine and complain as we were leaving. Hopefully deer season and my cow tag will be filled realtively early so we can go out more.

The breaks up where I got my elk was loaded with sharptails, but I figured some of the guys chasing elk would be a little upset if I started hunting the hills for grouse, lol.

Great picture. I'll be down there in a few weeks chasing deer and hopefully my first sharpies and sage grouse.
