We are in Lockdown 2.0 at the moment but deer stalking is allowed so with Christmas coming up and meat boxes to the landowners to sort out, a trip out this morning.
06.30 was the hour before sunrise and legal light. Made my way to cover crop (wild bird seed crop/ pheasant game cover crop). We have a tree stand there so there were fallow deer in the cover crop( millet) and heading back for the woods. So got up the tree stand and decided to wait up there for a few hours. Deer moving in the woods but over our boundary. They normally head deep into the woods but today they only went 30 yards in and hung around.
So I waited that bit longer instead of going for a stalk.
Then this guy came back out of the wood. 165gr interlock did the rest.
A good freezer filler. 85lb dressed out larder weight
