CDS can be added to older vx-II scopes. I'm always on the lookout for them. mtmuley

Light transmission is huge difference, better gas purging higher you go. Reticles that are avail change. Get a redfield over riflemen series, both made by leupold. The vx2 is a great way to spend your money. Vortex is building a great option right now. Nikon monarchs and zeiss conquest are ok options but I would look within leupold/vortex. Warranties are essentially unquestioned with both for life of scope, probably won't need them.

Also, Colorado made Burris are great. Not the fullfields, their just good scopes.
