Hey all,

My wife and I are going to be in the Dillon area coming up, she has general deer and elk tag to fill this year. Wondering if anyone can give me some basic information on the area, I would like to make it as enjoyable as I can for her.

What are the elk versus deer numbers like in this area?

Is there some accessible hunting areas that can be productive without having to drag her on a death march into mountains?

Thanks!

Numbers are good.

If you don't have access to the bottoms, you'll be hiking.

Check out the BMAs.

@406LIFE Thanks, I will keep that in mind as I am scouting. I actually decided to take off a day early so I can go down and poke around a bit, see if I can find an area that might prove productive for her. I always feel bad about knocking on someones door this time of year for access(I usually like to show up out of season and ask if they can use any help), but I may just have to see if I can find some friendly faces.

You can fill the deer tag fairly easily in 331 or 340 without having to hike too far, but mature bucks will be hard to come by if you don't have access to private land.
