Crops and their Contents

Crops from ruffed grouse from our 2023 grouse camp in N WI. The biggest surprise to me was the amount of crops that were empty but the nuts and other critters are cool too.

Fascinating actually.

Early to mid-season blues (dusky) are the most intriguing to me. Seeing the variety in early season birds sometimes within even the same brood is eye opening.
