CO Preference Points

If I wanted to purchase a preference point in CO for Elk by 4/5/16 (not planning on hunting this year) what units would I put as my 1st-4th choices?

CO doesn't have an option to just buy a preference point like WY do they? I'm pretty new to the CO rules and haven't done a lot of research yet (this weekend hopefully I can look into it more but just thought I would throw a quick comment out there to see what you guys think).

You can just buy a preference point. You need to enter the code for a preference point as your first choice and then you can ignore choices 2-4 if you are not planning on hunting this year. I don't remember exactly what the code is but its easy to find on the DOW website.

Enter E-P-999-99-P as your first choice. No other choices needed. You'll have to front the full tag fee, which you'll get refunded this summer. If you did not have any kind of license last year they keep $40 or $50, not sure which.

No units
