CO Fall Bear Water or Food Source?

If you are going into a unit that you have not going to get to scout close to season (scouting 6 months in advance does nothing more than show you were bear, elk, deer, etc where 6 months ago by the time season comes and with my work schedule I can't get back there again until we leave to go hunt on August 31 which gives us 1- 1/2 days to scout) would you tend to search out food source or water first and why? I see the argument for both and if you can find both close by that is even better but if you had to pick one area to glass/sit for the day which way are you going? Glassing over berries/oak brush full of acorns or over a waterhole?

This is my first year bear hunting and every experienced person I've talked to basically says that bear hunting is "find the food, find the bears."
