Building my own bow

I'm interested in building my own recurve bow. I have been looking up videos and tutorials on youtube and various websites. I was wondering if anybody has any experience building a bow and could help me out getting started. I FULLY understand this is a complicated process and I'm not new to woodworking (I work at Gibson making guitars). any help would be great... thanks.

Clay Hayes has several youtube videos. He makes all of his own bows for hunting.

For your first one I'd take a look at Bingham Projects. They carry everything you'll need to get started along with blue prints and how to videos. Don't get to crazy with exotic woods or veneers for your first one. Plan on spending around 40ish hours on build time. Be forewarned though that it is very addicting but well worth the effort especially after you start taking game with your own homemade gear. Have fun and show some pictures of the whole process.
