Black Mesa bear

A black bear has been spotted in the panhandle at Black Mesa SP. We have plenty of bears here in the SE part of the state but this isn't exactly normal bear country I bet this guy most likely came down from Colorado or New Mexico. Looks like a immature bear from the picture with a pretty blond coat. I've camped within 50 yards of where the bear is standing in the photo close to a dozen times and saw a mountain lion in 2020 in the same area of the park. Will be camped there again this September to help my friend fill his Oklahoma pronghorn tag maybe I'll get lucky and run into it.


 
I remember growing up in Virginia there was only a bear season in the mountains and in the swamp. Now there are bears in every county except the eastern shore.
