First cut in 1909. Lot of good historical photographs to see how it was, and what fire suppression and an opened canopy lead to. Then demonstration plots to monitor different restoration treatments in 1991, to today.

You can do a self guided tour of the area, and see first hand which treatments did better than other treatments.

Think there was a controlled burn up there this last year, as we could see it when fishing on the west side. Might have to do that self guided tour.

I went for a hike in there behind the gate around Christmas. There was an area that they burned that looked like from the fall of 2022. Lot of burning going on this past fall in that general area as well, that I could see from the backyard.
