These two young men walked the hills and oak brush from dark til dark for 3 1/2 days in separate parts of the east face of a large mountain...Tuesday morning they ended up together watching a herd of cows on an opposing ridge four hundred ranged yards from their position with a quartering wind in their favor. Son in law (right) placed a 300 win Mag 180 AB perfectly and the lead cow went about 20 yards and tipped...the herd didn't budge. Ken Jr. missed with two 140 270 Short Mag AB's, (cows still don't budge) then Stephen handed him his 300 Win Mag....moments later two young hunters have elk on their first trip.
