Heading to AK and trying to devise a low profile tackle box for the trip. Main issue being some big pixies and spoons with treble hooks. Gallon ziplock seems like a disaster waiting to happen and my normal box is way to big and clunky to fly with, what are you using when you are heading into the backcountry?

I use a small Plano (I think) fly box. It's got to be more than 20 years old at this point. It's small, probably 4" x 8" x 2" and opens on both faces. I like it because the divider is pretty shallow to the one face, and covered with foam... great for flies, then the other side has small compartments containing a collection of spinners, spoons, tear drop bobbers and the like. If I can get the baby down for a nap this afternoon I'll try to dig it out and get a picture or better info for you.

Switch your trebles out for Gamakatsu open eye single siwash hooks.

You will stick fish hard with them and they pack a lot easier.

That’s all I have used for years, you can even pinch barbs down for easy releases.

I have a nylon type Plano gag that zips across the top.
Has a compartment on both sides and a nylon mesh handle handle. 8"x8"x2"
Fits perfect in the small compartment on my Float Tube.Any size lure fits.
Check Amazon they have a good variety.
