Are grizzly bears expanding their territory

The question should be asked are grizzly bears expanding their range. The article title uses territory incorrectly from a wildlife perspective.

A territory is an area that an individual animal inhabits.

A range is the area that a species inhabits.

By the sounds of of the recorded sightings it does sound like grizzly bears are expanding their range.

From what I understand there are currently 5 distinct grizzly populations in the lower 48, North Cascades, Selkirk Mountains, Cabinet Yaak, Greater Yellowstone, and the Northern Continental Divide. The first three holding less than 100 bears each. It does seem like bears from the last two are expanding their range.
