Antique knife identification "edge brand"

Curious if there are any knife experts on HT? Grandpa gave me this a long time ago (15+ years) and i am curious what type of steel and approx year of make. It has a "488 mark" and the sheath says "edge brand" with solligen germany. Google has left me with no steel info and very little aging guesses.

Seems like a good knife - worked on the tang a little and it is good to go.

not a knife guy... but that is one I would buy if I ever saw it

Used to have a couple of Puma knives with Solingen steel. Good tools...
