A year and a half after shooting this bull, I finally got around to mounting him. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I mount my own animals so they are not perfect, but I learn something new everytime and really enjoy putting them back together. I used the cape from the first bull I shot and the antlers from the second bull I shot.

Have a good weekend.

Bwana,

I kept the cape off of my first bull, as it was in good condition. I wanted to get a good cape salted and prepped as soon as possible. I didn't want to try and deal with it the last day or two of our hunt. It was just one less thing to worry about.

My cousin, who lives in Alaska and whom I hunted with when I got this caribou, called last week asking if I was game to go again this year. It seems he is having trouble finding a hunting partner or two for this year's caribou hunt. I had to pass, but told him I would like to bring my son up in the future.
