After getting my son's gobbler, my friend Kirby shot his first turkey with a bow out of the same blind. This is the first animal he has taken with a bow. He said he was surprised by the hollow thud the arrow makes when it connects. I told him he will learn to love that sound!

Last night I took down the blind and set up an ambush. The turkeys seemed to be consistantly walking by a lone tree in the middle of a field. The birds passed by this tree on the way into the creek bottom to roost. After a couple of hours, of waiting four jakes topped out on a large butte and looked over the field. They decided all was safe and came trotting by with no idea I was there. The lead jake looked good as I have fishing and scouting to do. It was a fun spring chasing turkeys and we went 3 for 3.

I hope the fall goes this well!:D

Way to go Buschy!

I've been wanting to try stick a bird with an arrow for a couple of years now but seem to keep going back to the old standby 870 every year due to lack of time to hunt. Maybe next year.
