It's been 7 years since I have drawn a rifle antelope tag in MT...some friends thought I was jinxed. This morning I could not find an antelope to save my life and know I saw more elk. Around 1pm I doubled back to a spot that the goats liked to loaf and sure enough about 10 were hanging out. A mile hike around a small ridge and the plan was to shoot the first one that stands and it turned out to be this buck. I'm not happy with my shot placement and a second shot was unfortunately necessary. He's already quartered and waiting for my knives in the morning.

Very nice!!! Congrats.

For the euro mount, you might want to contact Big Sky. He does them with beetles.

Nice buck! Glad you connected on a good one!

Bummer on the shot placement, but pronghorn are small targets in not usually ideal conditions. My last two Montana bucks were also shot poorly.

Dang, I have a buck and a doe tag for MT this year. These antelope pics are enough to make me consider tossing the elk tags aside and telling the cameras to leave me alone for a few days.

Congrats on a really good buck in a very tough year.
