    New chick from Manitoba

You can see a bit of what the winter road looks like. At -40 I had to upgrade my snowmobile suit (FXR Adrenaline) and boots (Baffin Impact) and relied on an electric helmet visor warmer to see. Note: bring extra cables, they break or get lost in the trees. I was warm enough riding but you sure...

    New chick from Manitoba

To hunt caribou in the winter in Manitoba you load up your snowmobile and about 8 jerry cans of gas and drive north until the pavement ends ( about 13 hrs from Winnipeg) then you get on the ice roads for another 16 hrs. It is only an extra 150 miles on the winter road but you can only go about...

    Law Enforcement on Public Lands

It’s the same in Canada. Not enough resources available to cover all the public (we call it Crown) land.

    New chick from Manitoba

Glad to have found this forum. I’m from the interlake area of Manitoba where I do a lot of waterfowling. We’ve got lots of deer to pick from and I’ve been waaayyyy up north on the ice roads for caribou. (Look up Tadoule lake). I’m looking to hunt pronghorn in Wyoming. Learning lots here.

    Northern Manitoba

Lots of nice bears here in Manitoba. Thompson is about 8-9 hours north of the US border and you don’t need to go that far to shoot a bruin. Definitely a Thermocel is recommended. I used one in a ground blind at a bait and it was like a wall the mosquitoes wouldn’t penetrate and the bears didn’t...
