I have done 5 DIY Colorado bow hunts. None from a backpack camp but the gear is the same. You never know what the weather will be. I have had 90 degree days and 9 inches of snow on Sept 12. I always have some wool clothing handy. One thing you need to consider as you pick your clothing is if it...
O/U You can get into an ATI for about $550 in any gauge you want. If you can't kill it in 2 the third probably won't matter. Choke each barrel differently. Comes in a youth size stock if needed. Can have him load one barrel only if safety is a concern. Selectable barrel. Extractors. walnut...
TC Encore Pro Hunter in .270. TC Encore pistol in .30 Herrett. CVA single shot 20 ga.
I have never passed on a shot because I only had one. A clean shot is a clean shot. Wouldn't matter how many shots I had.
Colorado, more public land to hunt. I have done 5 DIY hunts in Colorado. Was into elk every trip but one. Hunted the same area each time. GET IN SHAPE>.
Our local ABC news affiliate ran a story about a month ago on an AR 15 Ghost Gun. They claim they ordered all the parts on line and built the gun in a couple of hours. They claim there were no questions asked by the vendors. They also claim there was no serial number on any part.
I emailed them...
Isn't the 30TC from a 30-30 case? Or did I miss something. I may be confused as my TC 30 Herritt is a 30-30 case.
I don't own the 7mm-08 or the 6.5 but I have a question. If you were going to hunt elk with either would the Barnes TTX solid copper bullet be your choice?
I heard of an outfitter that when they found an ATV where it shouldn't be, they pushed it a few yards away and drained the oil. Then put it back where it was.
You should look at the AWS (American Water Spaniel) Smaller than most gun breeds except a Boykin. Ows is now 10 and there was a period where we both worked and he was home alone all day. He is a hunting maniac. Loves upland and ducks. They are a flushing breed but hunt close.
Been tenting it for hunting for 35 years. Now we have a sleeping tent, cook tent and outhouse/shower tent. Put a plastic tarp over the tent, not touching suspended a few inches over. Keeps the snow and rain off, no leaks. We use kerosene heaters, works fine.
I searched gun broker yesterday and found quite a few "JM" guns. Prices were all over the map. Found a long barrel Marlin, half octagon and half round. I'm hoping to find one that I can go look at before I buy. I appreciate all the input guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I will broaden my search pattern and see what is available.
I currently have a TC Pro Hunter and I could buy a 45-70 barrel for that.
I got this bug in my shorts to buy a 45-70. I don't NEED a 45-70, I want a 45-70. I have never fired one. I know the cartridge has been around forever. I read that it's a good deer, elk and moose gun out to about 200 yards. Pushes a lot of lead. Marlin makes a lever action with a long barrel...
From the research I did, the Barnes TTX should perform well. Solid copper that retains 95% of its weight. I have not shot anything with one but plan to use them for elk from my 270
