Anyone shoot a single shot out there?
TC Encore Pro Hunter in .270. TC Encore pistol in .30 Herrett. CVA single shot 20 ga. I have never passed on a shot because I only had one. A clean shot is a clean shot. Wouldn't matter how many shots I had. -

Colorado, more public land to hunt. I have done 5 DIY hunts in Colorado. Was into elk every trip but one. Hunted the same area each time. GET IN SHAPE>. -

ABC News Ghost Gun

Torn between .257 Rob & .270 for this years hunt
If hunting local to home, 257. If traveling 270 because I can buy 270 everywhere. Maybe not the case with the 257? -

7-08 or 6.5 creedmoor
Isn't the 30TC from a 30-30 case? Or did I miss something. I may be confused as my TC 30 Herritt is a 30-30 case. I don't own the 7mm-08 or the 6.5 but I have a question. If you were going to hunt elk with either would the Barnes TTX solid copper bullet be your choice? -

ATV's going up horse/human trail

Best Bird Dog for Apartment
You should look at the AWS (American Water Spaniel) Smaller than most gun breeds except a Boykin. Ows is now 10 and there was a period where we both worked and he was home alone all day. He is a hunting maniac. Loves upland and ducks. They are a flushing breed but hunt close.- 2dogs

Wall Tent Rookies - When is too cold?`
Been tenting it for hunting for 35 years. Now we have a sleeping tent, cook tent and outhouse/shower tent. Put a plastic tarp over the tent, not touching suspended a few inches over. Keeps the snow and rain off, no leaks. We use kerosene heaters, works fine.- 2dogs

Hitch Hauler: suggestions and input sought
I had a steel hauler. Heavy as hell and difficult to get into the receiver. Spent the extra $$ got got an aluminum hauler. Much easier on the back.- 2dogs

45-70
I got this bug in my shorts to buy a 45-70. I don't NEED a 45-70, I want a 45-70. I have never fired one. I know the cartridge has been around forever. I read that it's a good deer, elk and moose gun out to about 200 yards. Pushes a lot of lead. Marlin makes a lever action with a long barrel... -

.338 Win Mag Bullet Choice for Moose
From the research I did, the Barnes TTX should perform well. Solid copper that retains 95% of its weight. I have not shot anything with one but plan to use them for elk from my 270
