    I agree with elkhnter, you picked some difficult units as far as terrain goes. I have taken 6 elk out of Idaho and would recommend units 5 or 10a/10b in that order.

    Idaho Unit 5?

    Hey I have hunter in unit 5 for the last 3 years and have taken an elk every year. It's a good unit in my opinion with lots of moose. I have hunted closer to Tensed.

    Suppressors and scope rings

    Low rings will work fine with a suppressor. Keep in mind rifle balance will be negatively affected by the extra weight at the end of the barrel also you will have POI shift. My shift is roughly 6 inches at 100 yards.

    Hey guys, I am thinking of getting a lightweight 308 or 280ai and getting rid of my lightweight 300 win mag. I shoot the 300 fine and have taken several elk and whitetail with it. But i am tired of getting beat up when I practice shooting it, which i do on a regular basis. What are your thoughts?
